Meet The Founder

 Leigh Haas is the founder and CEO of Mockingbird Land Services, a seventh generation Mississippian, political strategist, energy operator, and safety leader. Her career spans Mississippi politics and national energy infrastructure across more than forty states.

She began her career in the Mississippi House of Representatives and later managed a United States congressional campaign, supported statewide political work, and built experience in public affairs, stakeholder strategy, and government relations. She holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Leigh moved from politics into energy and infrastructure, where her work expanded across pipelines, electric transmission, utilities, renewable energy, battery storage, broadband, industrial development, land operations, recruiting, workforce strategy, business development, and stakeholder engagement. She helped build recruiting and workforce systems inside a company that grew from approximately ninety people to more than three hundred fifty and supported large field deployments across multiple states.

That work taught her that infrastructure depends on more than land, labor, or capital. It depends on the people carrying decisions from one part of a project into another. The right person can protect a client relationship, read a landowner, recognize pressure before it becomes a problem, and keep the work moving when conditions change.

Her later work in Human Performance gave formal structure to that operating instinct. It sharpened how she sees weak handoffs, unclear authority, changing conditions, communication failures, workforce pressure, and decisions made too far from the field.

Politics taught her how authority moves. Infrastructure taught her what happens when a plan reaches the ground. Workforce development taught her that a résumé is not a workforce. Human Performance taught her how conditions shape the result.

Those experiences became the foundation of Mockingbird.
