Meet the Founder
Leigh Haas is a seventh-generation Mississippi Gulf Coast operator and the founder of Mockingbird Land Services, a boutique energy and infrastructure consulting firm. Mockingbird supports projects that have to cross real property, real communities, and real scrutiny. The work is practical and field rooted: secure access, verify ownership, clean records, coordinate stakeholders, and keep the file tight enough to defend when things get loud.
Before energy, Leigh trained in politics. She worked in the Mississippi government and on a United States congressional campaign. That taught her how decisions get made, how influence actually moves, and how to handle conflict in public without losing control of the story. That background shows up on projects in agency conversations, local leadership dynamics, landowner negotiations, and the moments where communication decides the schedule.
Leigh built her career in energy by living inside the hard part of delivery. More than 200 projects across 40-plus states. Pipelines, power, renewables, and utility work where deadlines meet landowners, crews, permits, and documentation. She knows what breaks a job early: unclear ownership, bad handoffs, missing proof, sloppy files, and teams that treat access like an afterthought.
Safety is not a slogan in her work. Leigh applies Human and Organizational Performance methods, a discipline focused on how work actually happens and why people make mistakes in real conditions. The output is simple and ruthless: clearer roles, better verification, cleaner handoffs, defensible documentation, and fewer preventable failures when pressure rises.
Mockingbird is also built as a systems shop, not only a services shop. Leigh designed and built an applicant tracking system to scale field teams without losing standards. It tracks readiness, qualifications, deployment status, and handoff integrity so staffing stays accountable and auditable. That system reflects her core operating belief: if it is not documented, it is not real.

Leigh also leads in the community. She serves as the lead for the redM Gulf Coast chapter, supporting awareness and action to protect vulnerable people moving through the same corridors the infrastructure world depends on. She does not separate values from delivery. That is the point.
